Going Green

Now, I know some of you out there in blog land either think I am crazy with all of the eco and green living, or your right on board reading some of the same things I am. So, for both sides, here's a little light reading on the topic.
This book is super simple to read and offers information on Organic food, Green cleaning products and overall green living in your life. I like this book because you can take what you want from it to use. You can go to the extreme (and wear an organic cotton hospital gown during labor) or not. Just pick the level that you feel comfortable with and is manageable to incorporate in your life.

Another thing I really like about this book is the research provided. It explains, with statistics and research why we should be eating and supporting organic food and farming. It also discusses toxins in the house and gives ideas for alternate cleaning and renovating methods.

Just wanted to share where I get all of my "crazy" ideas.

Below is a summary critique of the book:

"Pediatrician Greene's informative guide for raising children in the most environmentally friendly way possible makes for some fascinating (and surprising) reading. From pregnancy and childbirth to nursery design and gardening, Greene covers hundreds of questions and situations new parents will face and provides a nonstop flow of sensible answers. His evenhanded tone makes this an excellent choice for audiences as varied as committed vegans to those who are considering purchasing organic milk. There is no pressure to "convert," and readers will find plenty of options for how little or much they want to commit to a new lifestyle. The book's layout is particularly impressive, with boxed comments from other parents, lists of recommended products and food, and numerous links to helpful sites. From diapers to food allergies, Greene has a thoughtful, non biased response to nearly every question a new parent could have. He gives his own opinions, but always states as much, and never! derides the choices of others. An excellent choice for those who don't know where to begin when it comes to environmental parenting."
